.Waiting For Superman.

On Friday night, .j. and I decided to checkout Waiting for Superman at the Archlight in Hollywood. I was taken by surprise at how moving the documentary was and how one number can change the lives of one person. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have been able to get an amazing education, but it sickens me that many children are not able to get a decent education. I wish the school system itself, which is suppose to help children, actually help children.

Please please, support this movement, and donate whatever you can to this great cause!

.Hot Flash.

Holy MAKEREL is it HOTTTT today.. It's crazy how hot this weekend has been. LA has had a really shitty summer, so were graced with amazing heat this weekend. Just walking to my car, I breakout in a sweat and hot flashes. It honestly feels like 100* outside. Thank god for air conditioning. Stay cool and hydrated people.

Meeting in 2 hours and I dont have a thing to wear...........

.OHH Johnny.

These boots are killer!! The YSL "Johnny" boots were designed by Tom Ford for YSL when he was the powerhouse behind YSL. The boots have become a permanent fixture in the mens line. I love them so much!! but the only problem is the 2.5" heel that the boots have. Maybe I will be adventurous and just get them.

.KNIT tie.

Hermes is synonimous for the infamous Birkin bags. Behing the acclaimed Birkins and Kellys you can find amazing mens acceosries that are elegant, and understand. Take for instance the "Caravate 4 Temps" silk knit tie. From a distance it looks like your normal kitted tie but upon further inspection, the tie itself is knitted in fine silk. The Caravate is available in three colorways, with an added twist.

For the man looking for understated accesories, with style and glamour, Hermes is definitely the way to go.

.FAVE KNIT.

Fall is upon us. While browsing through Zara this weekend I found this cute, warm and functional knit sweater. I'm so excited to wear it this fall!! The best way to wear the sweater is paired with some dark denim and some boots.

.BR PIMA COTTON.

Trying to find basic shirts that you can wear everyday is almost impossible to find. On my recent trip to Hawaii, I walked into Banana Republic and stumbled upon their Pima Cotton Vneck-Tee's. They are by far, the best shirts I have ever purchased. I already have laundered them and they are getting softer after every wash and better yet are retaining its fit. At $19.50 a piece they are a bargain, but the best part is if you buy three, you get a 25% discount on your total purchase. To top it off the 4% sales tax in Hawaii. So I had to pull the trigger and buy them. I also had a coupon for 20% at BR this weekend so I went back and bought three more shirts. Totally worth every penny. Go forth and buy!

.MYTILE.

I was up late last night and a commercial for Stoli Vodka came on and guess where they filmed it? @ MyStudio. And of course im giddy because the commerical is shot in the VIP room that has my tile that I provided. *pat on the back* Took a still shot of the video below.

.TRETORN.

So I picked up a pair of Tretorn canvas sneakers (pictured below) this past weekend. I would consider Tretorn's to be a lovechild of Chucks & Jack Purcell's. They make amazing shoes. Two words:Simple & Understated.

.Maui Wowee.

My review of Maui.

Maui was a surprise birthday trip from .j. for my 24th birthday. What more could a boy ask for than being whisked away for his birthday. So I got to the airport at the butt crack of dawn, not knowing where I was heading, but with simple instructions of: pack light. For those who dont know me, I dont know how to pack light, even for an over night stay. You gotta have options right? So .j. has kept the destination on wraps trying to avoid all inconcievable hints or dead giveawys until I get to the boarding gate. Giddy as a little boy, I rush to the gate and see: Maui Wowee. I was so stoked that I almost pissed my pants. 5 hours later, a trip to the rental car agency and we're on our way to our hotel. Btw, I have no clue what hotel im staying at. As my anticipation boils we pull up into the beautiful Grand Wailea. Im thinking.. *shit* this must be one hella of an expenisve trip. And that my friends, is the beggining of an amazing birthday.

Accomodations, accomodations, accomodations.. im a sucker for a beautiful hotel... and boy was I impressed with the Grand Wailea. From check-in to check-out, the service was outstanding. The Grand Wailea is part of the Waldorf Astoria Collection. One of the perks of the resort is the incredible coral reef that is waiting to be explored at its doorstep. I spent endless hours snorkeling and swimming, trying to absorb the beauty srounding me. The amenities at the resort are also amazing (spa, gym, restaurants), with a kids area that includes, slides, waterfalls, and a lazy pool. The adults also have their own pool to unwind and relax under the glorious sun.

Did I forget to mention how amazing the staff were?

FOOD FOOD FOOD!!!!.. what else is there to do than snorkel and swim? you EAT!!!!! and boy did I eat..I was able to gain a sexy 8lbs in such a short amount a of time. So here are a few places to eat while in Maui.

Breakfast:
Kihei Caffe: They have the best, breakfast/brunch in town. Highly recommended by locals and me :).

Snack:
Ululani's Shaved Ice (Lahaina, Dairy Rd in Kahului): Holy Makerel!!! The best way to cool down under the sun.. Reccomendations: The Haleakala.

Lunch:
Aloha Mixed Plate (Lahiana): amazing calbee ribs.. :)

Geste Shrimp Trunk (Kahului): the best shrimp truck in the world!!! Reccomendations: Scampi Shrimp and the Spicy Pineapple Shrimp. :) :) :)

Dinner:
Da Kitchen (Kihei, Kahului): best place for some chicken katsu and freed spam masubi..

Sensai (Kihei): the best best best place for sushi. Recommendations: everyone should get the tasting set menu. You get to try to the fried ahi roll, and the amazing butter fish..

Mama's Fish House (Paia) : the best place for amazing fresh fish. the atmosphere is also amazing. I highly recommend the stuffed mahi mahi..

There are a lot of great places to eat in Maui, but with the amount of time we had, I wasnt able to endulge as much.
*Overall, I had an amazing time in Maui, I was quite amused with the ghetto white trash that tried to be hawaiian. One of the downsides to Maui, is the winds that seem to pick up right after lunch, so its best to do all the water activities early morning. I can't wait to go back next year!!
